About Me – Paul E. Scott

Welcome to Putting My Pen to Paper!

My name is Paul Scott.  I am a passionate writer, a loving husband, a proud father, a hardcore gamer, an avid film watcher and a percussion enthusiast.

I’ve been writing since I was able to pick up a pencil – safe to say that I consider it my calling in life.  I fell in love with the English language and its structure at a young age and that passion has only grown with the passing years.

I married my beautiful wife, Rachel, in April 2009 and we are still very much in love with one another.  I can’t imagine living my life with anyone else.  We still, and always will, consider ourselves newlyweds in thought and action.

My beautiful daughter, Oriana, joined our family in November of 2009.  She is now a year old and moving around our house like a tank.  No matter what obstacles we place in her way to protect our valuables, we can’t seem to find a way to stop her.

I’ve been playing video games almost as long as I’ve been writing.  The NES came to America, after all, less than two weeks after I was born so Nintendo and I have grown up together hand-in-controller.  My favorites are the Final Fantasy series and the Metal Gear Solid series but I enjoy anything that has a deep, thought-provoking plot (sorry first-person-shooters and fighters, very few of you fit that category).

I love movies.  Raised as a child to play outside, I naturally rebelled when I became a teenager and vowed to make up for lost time…I’ve done pretty well for myself and own a miniature library of 300 films though I won’t be truly satisfied with my collection until every movie I’ve seen is placed neatly in alphabetical order on my shelves.

I used to be a drummer as well as play several other percussion instruments in high school.  I pawned my drum set for a few extra bucks after graduating and have regretted it ever since.  I swear on my life that one day another drum set will fill my home with loud, obnoxious beats.  I still thoroughly enjoy playing the piano, though I can’t actually play.  I have written one song and it’s the only one I know other than chopsticks and the simplified Super Mario Bros. theme so I spend most of my piano time playing it over and over again until the other people in the room are annoyed with me.

What else is there to say about me?  I guess you’ll learn more as you read my words.  Each word is a piece of my soul and carries me on my way to eternity.  Read on, valiant reader, and welcome!
