Three days ago I shared all I knew about the third installment in the new Batman series. Now I return to you with an informational update on the second film in the new Superman franchise, Superman: The Man of Steel. Unfortunately there isn’t quite as much information about the Superman film as there is about the Batman film.
As far as confirmed information goes, all we know is that the film will be directed by none other than Zack Snyder – the man that has directed such comic book films as 300 and Watchmen. That alone is enough to see me on seeing the film. I will admit that I’m not a big Superman fan and I was a little disappointed in the first film.
Unconfirmed rumors is all that remains. Here’s what I’ve read from a few different sources:
Brandon Routh, the actor portraying Superman in the first film, will not be returning. The producers are looking for someone in their mid-to-late 30s to play Superman.
This film will be about the origin of Superman and his struggle to choose to be Superman or his less-respected alter ego, Clark Kent. The villain will be the same as from the original Superman and Superman II films, General Zod. Snyder was quoted saying “just a rumor…for now.”
